Certificate of Conformity (Chapter 5)

I AM SO SORRY THAT I HAVE NOT UPDATED FOR A WHILE. Remember when I said that my hard drive from my old laptop was recovered? I did find my BL stuff there but apparently---- so did my dad… My strict catholic dad who thinks that homosexuality is a mental disease (well, almost everyone in my family does)… After an hour long lecture about the evils of homosexuality--- HE DELETED EVERYTHING IN THE HARD DRIVE!!!  IT’S. ALL. GONE.  Along with my laptop privileges… (°□°)╯ ┻━┻

BUT WORRY NOT! REBEL ME DID NOT GIVE UP ON BL! Although translating on the phone was ultra hard, super slow and I fell into the arms of procrastination a few times, I AM FINALLY BACK! (cause my dad finally went back abroad) (≧∇≦)/

Thank you for your patience.

~

When Chen Heng woke up, he found himself lying on the bed, and his clothes have changed into comfortable cotton pajamas.

He lifted his quilt and sat up, and the tingling sensation in his head made him subconsciously tighten his eyebrows.

While he stretched his arms and rubbed his aching temples, he carefully thought about what happened last night. The company dinner, drinking, the phone call--- that’s right, there was also that kiss.

Thinking of this, Chen Heng couldn't help but touch his lips.

He was actually kissed by someone.

First, an anonymous letter, then the lascivious erotic comics, and now that strong kiss; this person hiding in the dark is really obsessed with him ah. I really look forward to what kind of things the other party has in store; I hope he wouldn’t let me down.

Thinking of this, Chen Heng’s eyes became dark like ink as he restrained the vicious smile on his face.

After getting up, Chen Heng made a hearty breakfast and knocked on Song Wenze's door.

There was no movement behind the door for a long time, Chen Heng had to say: "Ā Ze, breakfast is ready; open the door."

"Oh, wait a minute, I will come right away."

There was something a little different about Song Wenze’s voice.

After waiting for almost three minutes, the youth finally dragged his slippers and opened the door. He only wore a loose nightgown. It seemed to have been put on in a rush. The nightgown was not fastened, and the neckline was wide open, revealing his clavicle and a delicate right shoulder.

Chen Heng paused for a moment then brought the breakfast in. At the corner of his eyes, he noticed the youth’s red, abnormal skin color. Then his line of sight fell onto the messy bed and the several tissue papers rolled up on the ground.

There was a strange smell in the air.

Seemingly noticing his line of sight, Song Wenze’s fair face blushed with shame. “*Cough, cough*, That… I haven’t vented for quite a while, so I used my hand......” He didn’t proceed with his explanation, and just looked at Chen Heng with a glance that said: We’re both men, so you should already know.

Chen Heng certainly knows what the other party is referring to and he has no opinion on it whatsoever.

Glancing at the young man’s shoulder that was exposed to the air, he used his fingertips to hook the nightgown back in place.

As the cool fingertips touched Song Wenze’s skin, his face showed a slight flush, he slightly turned away and fixed his clothes. Chen Heng calmly retracted his hand and stood silently.

The atmosphere was somewhat awkward.

Song Wenze quickly turned his attention to the steaming breakfast. "Wa, it's my favorite congee with pork and century eggs. Brother, you are so good to me."

Chen Heng smiled faintly and warned him: "Drink slowly; it’s hot, so be careful."

In his heart, Chen Heng mockingly thought that he will take back every good thing that he gave and have Song Wenze pay with his life.

Remembering his purpose for coming here, Chen Heng asked: "Was it you who sent me back last night?"

"Yeah." Song Wenze nodded.

"Did you see any strange people after you arrived?"

"No." Song Wenze lifted his face from the bowl and glanced at him inexplicably. "After you called me last night, I arrived in ten minutes. You fell asleep while leaning on the door of the men's toilet and made me jump in fright." The young man turned serious and earnestly said: "You’re not allowed to drink alcohol in the future; you know you can't handle it."

"En, I know." Chen Heng unhurriedly replied.

Before he left, he thought of something and turned to Song Wenze: "Last night, you helped me change into my pajamas, thank you."

*Cough, cough, cough* Hearing this, Song Wenze suddenly choked on his congee and couldn’t stop coughing.

Chen Heng patted his back with concern. "Don't drink too fast."

Song Wenze vaguely groaned, and when his coughing stopped, he lowered his head and urged: "You should quickly go to work. You’re going to be late."

"Okay," Chen Heng thought for a moment and asked: "Oh, that’s right, do you have money on hand? If not, I can give you some."

"No need." Song Wenze pushed Chen Heng out of the room. "You nag and nag like an old maid every day."

"I am your brother, I would care about you no matter what ah."

Chen Heng smiled and shook his head, and then turned around to go to work.

He wasn’t aware that behind him, Song Wenze was watching him with an unspeakable and complicated look in his eyes, and his line of sight did not move away for a long time.

***

At lunch time, colleague Liu Hao has been continuously teasing him about getting drunk. "Su Yi, I say, no wonder I haven’t seen you go drinking before. It turns out that your tolerance for alcohol was this bad. You may not know, but when your cousin helped you leave last night, Manager Zhao’s complexion was very ugly."

Chen Heng whispered back: "The manager has the right to be unhappy. Last night was supposed to be a welcoming party for Qi Zǒng. Me leaving in advance must have ruined everyone’s excitement."

"That was nothing; it’s just that the manager lacks magnanimity. Maybe he was even looking for you on purpose."

"Should he not?" Chen Heng frowned.

"I don’t know."

Indeed, just as Liu Hao said, Chen Heng was called to the office by the manager in the afternoon.

"Manager, you were looking for me."

The manager took a look at him while slowly drinking coffee. "Were you not aware that when you left early last night, you made me lose face? We were originally going to sing at a KTV afterwards, but after you left, Qi Zǒng also did not stay long."

"I'm sorry." Chen Heng apologized.

“What use is it to apologize to me?” he let out a snort. “Go, go and apologize to Qi Zǒng, or I will deduct your year-end bonus.”

"Yes, manager."

Chen Heng responded with a good temperament and turned to go in the direction of the general manager's office.

*Knock, knock, knock*

"Please, come in." Qi Wei’s unique husky voice came through the door.

Chen Heng pushed the door and walked in. "General Manager, hello."

The young man sitting in the office chair was wearing a snow white shirt with the collar open and the top three buttons unfastened, he gave off a languid and indolent air. Seeing Chen Heng, he adjusted his posture slightly and put his hands on the desk. "What's the matter?"

"It’s like this; I came here to apologize to Qi Zǒng. I got drunk and had to leave early last night. I am truly very sorry for the inconvenience."

Qi Wei listened, and raised an eyebrow. Suddenly, he asked something completely unrelated: "Who made you apologize?"

Chen Heng stared blankly before he immediately followed the good as naturally as water runs downhill: "Nobody. I, myself, felt that it was necessary to apologize to you."

Of course, he knows the rules of the workplace. One can't just say bad things about one’s boss.

But, this man with a strange name is quite smart. He unexpectedly managed to guess right away that someone told him to come and apologize.

"I see."  Softly tapping his fingers on the desk, something dark flashed in Qi Wei’s eyes. "In the future, for such a trivial matter, you don't need to come over to apologize."

"Yes, Qi Zǒng." Chen Heng bowed. "If it’s alright, I will be going out first."

"Wait."

A distinctly cold and careless voice rang from behind him. Chen Heng halted in his step, and then he heard the other person say: "Help me pour a cup of coffee."

Chen Heng closed his eyes, "Okay."

When Chen Heng bent over to pick up the cup on the desk, a soft white hand extended, and it just happened to rest on the back of his hand. Chen Heng’s hand trembled, but he listened as Qi Wei unhurriedly said: “Forget it. I’d better do it myself." After he finished speaking, Qi Wei took the cup from Chen Heng's hand.

Chen Heng didn't think much of it. He left the office and returned to his job.

Because the company received a large order, all employees were temporarily notified to work overtime. Chen Heng could only call Song Wenze first, so that his brother would not wait for him to go back to cook. Song Wenze was obviously unhappy, and his voice sounded pitiful. Chen Heng had no choice but to carefully comfort him through the phone.

When he got off the phone, a deep voice abruptly said: "Girlfriend?"

Chen Heng looked up, just in time to see Qi Wei whose face was half hidden in the shadows, "Qi Zǒng."

When Qi Wei walked out, the light and shadow dissipated, and his gorgeous and perfect face was revealed clearly in Chen Heng’s eyes.

"Don't treat me like an outsider. In the future, it’s fine to just call me Qi Wei." The young man smiled. "Who were you talking to just now ah, your voice was really gentle."

"Oh, it was younger brother."

"Was he the one who came to pick you up last night?"

"En."

Looking at Qi Wei’s smiling expression; Chen Heng felt that something was wrong, but he couldn’t figure out what, and he didn’t know what to say next.

So, in the end, he opened his mouth to say: "Then, I will be going."

"Okay." Qi Wei nodded with a smile on his face, watching Chen Heng leave his sight.

The lights of the corridor shined down, reflecting the unclear and enigmatic look on his face.

***

When he came out of the company, it was already 8 o'clock in the evening.

After Chen Heng bid farewell to his colleagues, he waited by the road to take a taxi. The location of Qihang Software Company is somewhat remote, and it was definitely not a good place to wait for a taxi. Chen Heng has already spent more than ten minutes of being blown by the cold wind but there still wasn’t a car in sight.

Just then, a black Bentley slowly came to a stop beside him.

"Su Yi?"

Chen Heng looked up and saw the face of Qi Wei that appeared from the window in the back seat. "Are you going home? I’ll give you a lift."

Chen Heng opened his mouth to speak, when his phone suddenly rang. He smiled awkwardly and answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Su Yi, are you still at the company? I’m feeling awful right now. Can you accompany me to the bar?"

"En, I just got off work."

"Wait out front, I will be there soon." Ou Yichen hanged up the phone after he finished talking.

Chen Heng put away his phone then he faced Qi Wei who was still waiting for his answer, and said: "Thank you for your kindness, Qi Zǒng, but my friend is coming over to pick me up."

"Oh, so it’s like that ah." Under the dim light of night, Qi Wei’s expression was hard to decipher and he was silent for a few seconds. Then he suddenly spoke: "You forgot what I told you?"

Chen Heng paused to think, then he whispered: "Qi Wei."

The young man hooked his lips and smiled with satisfaction. "Su Yi, see you tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow."

Watching the black Bentley blend into the incoming traffic, the strange doubts in Chen Heng's mind are getting deeper and deeper. He has only interacted with Qi Wei a handful of times in total, yet the other party seems to be a bit too enthusiastic about him.

Could it be that he is the one who has continuously watched him behind his back?

Thinking of this possibility, Chen Heng’s expression grew cold and a storm was brewing in his eyes.

It seems that in addition to Song Wenze, he still has to kill one more person.

***

The author has something to say:

Chen Heng looked at the newcomer in front of him and raised an eyebrow. "I heard that you are a talented person who has been specially recruited from other fields?"

"You could say that."

"What is your name?"

"Qi Wei."

Odor? (TN: Pronounced as Qìwèi as opposed to his name Qí Wéi) What a strange name.

This young man called ‘odor’had a clear and bright expression on his face, "Chen Heng, I have been looking forward to meeting you for a long time."

"You are not afraid of me?"

"No, I like you."

Chen Heng sneered and looked at the malnourished youngster in front of him. On his face was his usual ice-cold and arrogant expression. "Do not rush to say that you like me, you do not have the qualifications."

"Then, how could I be considered as qualified?"

Chen Heng turned around and carelessly said: "Defeat me, whether it's in the professional field or in terms of physical fitness."

  2. Oh my gosh XD that actually reminded me of that one time my mom caught me reading a yaoi manga... On one of those scenes. She confiscated every since electronic device I had (except for this small device that's like a computer but not? It was an Android product I remember...) And banned me from reading mangas.... Too bad she didn't think that I'd read yaoi novels :3 and she lectured me the very next morning with Dad beside her and it was like 'AAAAAAHHHHHHH' in my heart. It's the reason why I chose to go to a boarding school for high school, though that wasn't any better (it was one of those religious schools -_-)

But getting all that data deleted sucks omg D: like another time my mom found my fanfictions... All of them are yaoi and... Well. A whole arc was deleted. And it was the final arc. Like. FML.

    Thanks for the chapter! Good luck with the whole translating stuff and limited computer+phone time ;w;

  4. I can't even imagine coming out to my family as a fujoshi, it's not like against my religions I think but more like they don't really like lgbt probably cause they don't know much about it. But I can just imagine the disappointment and horror if it ever gets out. This is why I only read yaoi on incognito and have my phone locked no matter.

  5. I think i'm dumb but what does chen heng mean with killing song wenze? does he mean literally killing them or-?

  6. MC's solution is quite simple and easy to understand.
Has to separate a couple? Kill.
Suspect that someone is too enthusiastic about you? Kill.
    Simple and efficient.
